To get to Chonchi on Chiloé Island, you can take a flight from Santiago or Punta Arenas to Puerto Montt, and from there drive on the Pan-American highway to the city of Ancud and then continue on Route 5 south.
Chonchi is located about 40 kilometers south of Ancud, and can be reached by car or public transportation.
There are also ferries that connect the island with the mainland, particularly from the city of Puerto Montt.
