Chonchi is a commune and city located on the eastern coast of the Isla Grande de Chiloé, in the Los Lagos Region of Chile.
It is located about 32 km south of Castro, the provincial capital, and about 78 km south of the city of Puerto Montt.
Chonchi is located in an area of hills and valleys, with the open sea to the west and the Coastal Range to the east.
The city is located in an inlet and has a port for small boats.
