Coihaique is the capital of the Aysén Region in southern Chile, located in a valley surrounded by mountains and rivers.
Its main attraction is the nature that surrounds it, such as the Queulat National Park, the Simpson River National Reserve and the Valley of the Explorers, where you can do various outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, rafting and kayaking.
To get to Coihaique you can take a flight from Santiago or Puerto Montt, or take a car trip along the Carretera Austral.
The city has an interesting history, as it was founded in 1929 as a sheep wool trading center.
Today, it is a city in constant growth and development, with a rich culture and local traditions.
