Punta Arenas is a city in the Magallanes Region, in southern Chile.
It is the provincial capital of the province of Magallanes and the Chilean Antarctic.
The city is known for its important port, its beautiful colonial architecture and its historical monuments.
Among the tourist attractions of Punta Arenas are the Sara Braun Palace, the Muñoz Gamero Plaza, the Punta Arenas Cathedral and the Cerro de la Cruz.
It is also a common starting point to visit the Magallanes National Reserve and the Torres del Paine National Park.
To get to Punta Arenas, you can take a flight from Santiago or other major cities in Chile.
There are also ferry services from Puerto Montt and Puerto Natales. The city is located on the coast of the Strait of Magellan and is the southernmost city in Chile.
