Rancagua is the capital of the O'Higgins region in Chile. It is located in the central valley of Chile, about 87 km south of Santiago.

Rancagua was founded in 1743 and has been the scene of important historical events, such as the Battle of Rancagua during the Chilean War of Independence in 1814.
