Reñaca is a spa located in the commune of Viña del Mar, in the Valparaíso region, Chile.
During pre-Hispanic times, the place was inhabited by the monkey indigenous people.
In the 17th century, Reñaca was a farm where vines and olives were grown.
In the 19th century, the first summer houses were built and the tourist activity began.
In 1891, the Reñaca Hotel was built, one of the first in the area, which received illustrious guests such as the poet Pablo Neruda. In the following decades, Reñaca became a popular tourist destination, with the construction of new hotels, cabins, and restaurants.
Currently, Reñaca is known for its beaches with clear waters, its rocks and its lively nightlife.
