Castro is a city located on the Island of Chiloé, in southern Chile.
Known as the "Capital of the Island", it is famous for its iconic stilt houses, typical constructions of the area that rise above the water.
It is also an important cultural and tourist center, with a rich tradition in crafts, music and gastronomy.
The city has several tourist attractions, such as Fort San Miguel, the Castro Regional Museum and the Church of San Francisco, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
