The city of Dalcahue is located on the island of Chiloé, in the Los Lagos region of Chile.
It was founded by Jesuit missionaries in the 17th century and has been an important religious center in the area ever since.
The church of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores is one of the most outstanding monuments in the city, as it is one of the oldest churches on the island of Chiloé and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
In addition, Dalcahue is known for its tradition in handicrafts, especially for the creation of wooden boats and sheep wool fabrics.
The city is located about 30 kilometers south of Castro and is easily accessible by car or bus from other cities on the island.
