Dalcahue is a picturesque city located on the Island of Chiloé, in southern Chile.
The city is located on the banks of the Dalcahue Canal and is known for its lively craft market and its traditional palafitos, houses built on wooden stilts on the coast.
In addition, it has the church of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Chiloé.
To get to Dalcahue, you can take a bus from the city of Puerto Montt, or a ferry from Pargua to Chacao, followed by a bus to Dalcahue.
It is also possible to arrive in your own vehicle, taking the Pan-American Highway to Puerto Montt and from there Route 5 to Pargua.
Dalcahue's location on Chiloé Island is strategic, since it is located on the east coast of the island, close to other tourist cities such as Castro and Ancud, and has a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.
