Easter Island, also known as Rapa Nui in the local language, is a remote island in Chilean Polynesia, located some 3,700 kilometers off the coast of mainland Chile.
Its population is concentrated in the main town, Hanga Roa, where the main tourist attractions are located, including the famous Moai statues.
The island is also known for its white sand beaches, crystal clear waters for snorkeling and its impressive natural landscapes, such as the Rano Kau and Rano Raraku volcanoes.
