Osorno is a city located in the Los Lagos region, in southern Chile.
Known as the "City of the Sun", it is an important economic and cultural center of the area.
Among its main tourist attractions are the Puyehue National Park, where you can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing, and the city's Plaza de Armas, which has a cathedral and various historical buildings.
You can also visit museums such as the Museum of the German Colonization and the Municipal Historical Museum.
To get to Osorno, you can take a flight to El Tepual International Airport in Puerto Montt and from there, continue by bus or private vehicle along the Carretera Austral. It can also be reached by bus from Santiago or other cities in the region.
Located at the foot of the Osorno volcano, the city has a privileged location, surrounded by mountains, lakes and rivers.
It is located about 930 km south of Santiago and 260 km south of Puerto Montt.
Osorno has a history that dates back to pre-Hispanic times, being inhabited by the Mapuche peoples. Subsequently, it was colonized by the Spanish and later, at the end of the 19th century, German immigrants arrived who contributed significantly to the development of the city.
