Puerto Montt is a port city in southern Chile, in the Los Lagos region.
It is an important gateway to Chilean Patagonia and a vibrant city with an interesting mix of culture and nature.
Its main attractions include the picturesque waterfront, the Angelmó Market, where you can find fresh seafood and local crafts, the historic center, the Jesuits church and the Juan Pablo II Museum. In addition, from Puerto Montt you can take excursions to nearby destinations such as the islands of Chiloé, the fjords and glaciers of Patagonia, and the lakes and volcanoes of the region.
To get to Puerto Montt, you can take a direct flight from Santiago or other main cities in Chile, or by bus from other nearby cities such as Valdivia or Osorno.
The city has a bus station and it is also possible to arrive by sea through cruise ships that run along the Chilean coast.
Regarding its location, Puerto Montt is located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, in the extreme south of the Los Lagos region, about 1,000 kilometers south of Santiago de Chile.
The city is surrounded by an impressive natural landscape of mountains, volcanoes, forests and lakes.
