Quemchi is a commune located on the Island of Chiloé, in the Los Lagos Region of Chile.
This small coastal town is known for its history and culture, as well as its beautiful natural landscapes. The church of Santa María de Loreto is one of the main attractions of Quemchi, built in the 18th century in the typical architectural style of the island.
Other places of interest include the Historical Museum and the House Museum of Francisco Coloane, a famous Chilean writer.
To get to Quemchi, you can take a bus from the city of Castro, which is about 60 km away.
There is also a ferry service that connects the Island of Chiloé with the mainland, arriving at the port of Chacao. From there, Quemchi can be reached by car in about 1.5 hours.
Quemchi is located on the west coast of Chiloé Island, about 40 km north of the city of Castro.
The commune is surrounded by a series of islands, which offer a wide variety of tourist attractions, such as beaches, hiking trails, historical sites and a large number of opportunities for fishing and maritime tourism.
